But I will not give up easily, I have to present my cause.

1.) How can you set expectations when you dont back it up? If you tell the customer what to expect, then tell them the facts. In my case, we were asked to tell the customer that there might be a wait time during the transfer to tech support, yet we dont even have the tool to check what that wait time is….

2.) Cherrypicked to fail -  I felt so frustrated I want to think that that call was cherry picked for me to fail. There are just times that you forgot 1 specific detail and your whole life will defend on it.. huhuhuh.. like what if you throw a pebble and that pebble hit a large stone that caused to hit another large stone that created a boulder or an avalance that would destroy a whole town?

3.) What about the things that I do better? - Sometimes we would like to scream for justice, where are the recognition for our accomplishments, how about the things that we contributed, why is it not noticed?

4.) The rules just sometimes sucks - Sometimes the rules in itself sometimes dont make sense..

It was almost the end of the second semester of school, but there still a big school event coming, the College SportsFest. One day on Room 201 of ESET, a few ladies went into the room to practice for the dance contest. One of them caught my eye, she looks beautiful to me, and with the help of a friend, I happened to know her name. Let’s say we call her “SEVEN”. By co-incident, ININ’s roommate and my close friend “BEBE” knows her, they were actually classmates for 1 semester. One morning while I was doing the laundry, I happened to eavesdrop on the conversation on the other side of the GI wall. “It’s them again”. But I noticed that the 2 voices are definitely ININ and BEBE’s. Well, I thought to myself, this might be a good opportunity to have a heart check up. “Hey ladies, I bet you’ll are doing laundry”. “Hello ROY, I haven’t seen you in quite a few weeks already, how are you doing?” It’s a no brainer, that voice is ININ’s. Does she even have a heart at all, I thought to myself .She definitely have no right to ask how I am after all she was the whole reason why I am so depressed. “I’m definitely fine, and I’m very much okay” “Hey BE, I heard you and SEVEN have been classmates before, I want to talk to you about her if we can have time, can we?” “Sure we can ROY, anytime you want” “Oh ROY, so you have a new crush? I will definitely feel jealous about that, how come you didn’t even tell me about it darling?” She’s definitely trying to kill me now, I thought, but the last word still sounds so sweet to my ears. Is she teasing me? What is she trying to accomplish? “I have to move on; I couldn’t just lay down heart broken am I?”
But nobody replied, I guess they are already done with the laundry.

The next morning on my way to school, I met BEBE. So we talked: “I know you did that on purpose ROY” “What?” “I felt ININ really felt bad about the conversation we have yesterday while we were doing laundry when you asked about SEVEN” “I don’t think so BE, how could she? She already dumped me remember?” “I know that but I think she still have that desire to be your friend, she often tells me how much she admires you. That you’re such a smart and thoughtful guy and that she tried her best to love you in return” “But we know she didn’t, and that all she did was to give me false hope and left me heart broken, how do you think she would feel if she were in my shoes” “Well, I thought we are to talk about SEVEN aren’t we?” So we talked about SEVEN until we arrived in the school.

It took some convincing for me to change coding from php to asp.net. I was getting comfortable with coding php and so I was afraid of moving to asp. But the moment I first get my hands on Visual Studio, I felt compelled by what it can offer. Productivity for one, I have to admit that in php I have to create tons of codes for a simple functionality. And I was so surprised to learn that in asp, someboady already created that function to me. So there I was switching technologies and programming languages and I thought everything will end there, but I was wrong again. The coding language I first used in asp.net is visual basic, which I am also a starter, and the syntax from coding php to VB is very different but fortunately I managed to sneak myway into VB and found myself even coding user controls which are advenced topics. I was able to exploit memberships, roles, profiles with no trouble until I bumped into a problem that starter like me can’t ressolve easily. The solution is presented but not in VB, its in C#, another coding language, still with much persistance, I was able to create the solution I wanted in VB. It seems that change is again lurking in the shadows and it seems like I have no option before it overruns me. So this afternoon I took that step forward in coding c# for the first time and I was able to successfully made it to the first base.

Change can be fearsome. But you will have to deal with it sooner or later. But then again why wait sooner when you can deal with it right now.

So theres the code, but how do we use it? First, If you are using visual web developer, you have to click the add new item and choose Class, then rename it to Fix.vb, and the IDE will ask you to place the code to the App_Code Folder, just click yes, then cut and paste this code, and the runtime will automatically compile your code as part of the application. If you will use it on a specific page you have to add a Register directive like this: <%@ Register NameSpace=”Fix” TagPrefix=”fix” %>  after the @Page line, then in your code, since we override the <asp:LoginView />, you should now declare it as <fix:LoginViewFix />

1st night (Sept. 7, 2008)
Me and my wife had little sleep, fender is not used to have dextrose in his right hand, so every so often he would use his left hand to try to remove the thing on his right.

Day 2 (Sept. 8, 2008. Monday)
We met Dr. Lim, our pediatrician, he asked if we have had histories of asthma or coughs, and he told me about fenders possible problem, pediatric community acquired pneumonia-C, transmitted to him probably from somebody else’s. He also provides me a time-table for fenders treatment. 3-4 days observation with the antiviral medicine, and he will be referring us to another doctor. He also assured me that fender’s case is not critical and that he has had worst cases of pneumonia before. His assuring words lift up my spirits.

Day 3 (Sept. 9, 2008. Tuesday)
Doctor Lim visited us in the morning and asked about fender’s situation. Fender is not coughing as frequently as before. In the afternoon another doctor checked fender’s situation. We were shocked when she told us that fender needs to be put on oxygen. She explained that fender is breathing heavily and the rate is above normal, and that the oxygen that he would inhale may not be enough. She told us further that if his breathing rate continues to increase, his brain and other organs might suffer. So the nurses put another tube to fender.

Day 4 (Sept. 10, 2008. Wednesday)
Doctor Lim rushed early in the hospital and explained why we have to put fender on oxygen, he also told us that they need to apply some kind of steroid so fenders breathing would relax, and they also added another hose for the antiviral medicine. Fenders already have 3 tubes on him. Doctor Lim assured me also that the oxygen might be removed later that day since fender’s breathing is back to normal. I went home that day and sent an email to my sister about fender’s situation; I almost cried my heart out while writing my email. Why is this happening to my baby?

Day 5 (Sept. 11, 2008. Thursday)
Doctor Lim checked fender early and told us that he will take charge of fender’s medication. The oxygen tube has been removed that day and fender shows better signs, his breathing is back to normal and coughs less often. Fender however did not poop for like 3 days and I started to worry about it, he also refuses to drink milk from the bottle and from his mother’s breast. We also noticed that he’s lighter than before.

Day 6 (Sept. 11, 2008. Friday)
We were so relieved that fender finally pooped and breastfed. Doctor Lim also assured us that fenders breathing and heart rate are all back to normal and that we are already ready to be checked out. I processed my intellicare insurance and philhealth insurance and we went home that day.

Fender is still coughing but less frequently now.

The holy month of Ramadan has already started, Muslim leaders begged government military forces and MILF forces to temporarily ceasefire for the sake of the celebration. If a mansion costs Php20 Million pesos, and pacman would build 1 for each children, for his wife, for his brother and father, making it 7 mansions all in all, it will cost $3.2 million dollars, and we still have $19 million, provided the US government asks $10Million from pacman as tax, he is still left with $9 Million, that is still Php405 Million. WHEW!!!

I once envisioned of genetically engineering a breed of rooster that would not fight, so people would stop gambling. But my friend Louie told me, even if two gamblers are tied and they saw a dew on a leaf, they will still bet if the dew falls or not. Who made the human race gamblers by nature?

#1. Browser
If you think Filipinos are the only ones substituting brand name for product names, think again. Microsoft dominates the software market, 90% of the PC’s are windows based. And it’s no wonder 90% of our callers don’t know what a browser is, instead they know the familiar Internet Explorer, or worse the blue “e” icon. So it’s okay if you say “pampers” and mean to say “EQ” everybody else in that department store knows you mean to buy a diaper.

#2. Operating System
Have you been to StarBucks? If yes, then your mouth might have once watered seeing the brand of laptop the customer on the other table has, and you might have also heard anyone of your friend commenting on the guy/gal as really “rich”. Well what can we say, that guy/gal just happens to have the familiar apple icon on the back side of his computer screen. The point is, the computing world is only dominated with 3 Operating System companies, the Windows, the Mac, and the insignificant others, and your choice of brand obviously defines your financial capacity.

#3. WI-FI
Before WI-FI, I always thought people bringing laptops are people with power-point presentations. Now at least if you have the guts to make it obvious that what’s inside your bag is a laptop, they will think that you’re local ISP strikes at you again, and that the heavy rain cut-off your torrent download, and that a free WI-FI hotspot is the only remedy for your lost sanity. At least we now have an alternative to internet connectivity rather than going to the crowded internet café.

#4 Cookie
Ever wonder why after logging in to a certain site, and closing it, and opening it back, it still have the “Welcome User” greetings on top? Well, if Windows didn’t eat the cookies with your personal information on it, chances are, you are still logged in. That’s why it’s important to log out from any website you’re logged into before closing the browser and leaving your station on the café. Websites today uses “cookies” to store user information in the local computer. But don’t worry, if you think that a computer geek can dig into these files and found your credit card numbers or passwords, you’re wrong, yes they can open the cookies, but 99% of the time, they will not benefit from what’s written on it. So the rule of the thumb; if you’re using somebody else’s computer, logoff properly from any user-based websites, and logoff from the computer itself and you will be 99.9% safe.

#5 URL
You may not find these anymore with the newer browsers, the reason; they replaced it with “address” field. Yeah that’s obviously what I mean; the URL field is that box where you type google.com, Friendster.com, youtube.com and etc. Unless your not one of the few users that when instructed to type a website, gives you this reply; “I have here a list of results, which one should I click?” Obviously you typed it into the search field. Don’t worry if you don’t know it all along, the URL term has already said goodbye, programmers and wannabes are the only ones using the term.
